Sunshine Islands Waterway Tire Dumping Grounds

Yes, the dark underbelly of Second Life gets exposed once again. Just as I'd uncovered during my Mare Secundus voyage, things are never as "sunny" as they may seem in SL and conspiracy theories abound everywhere (mostly ones that I've started here.)

I embarked on my voyage from Safe Harbor & Air Strip. There's a complimentary guest boat rez area there, so you can too!

Heading southward I made my way to the Sunshine Island Waterway which is a cover name for a horrendously pollution filled dumping ground for used tires and innertubes, I suspect from the LDPW.  (Linden Department of Public Works)

Even before reaching the Waterway, I discovered garbage floating in the water...

From the moment I entered the waterway I was met by unsightly floating refuse and flotsam and jetsam. The floating debris was everywhere. Something began to feel very suspicious about this.

Shortly after landing on the first island I stumbled into a quicksand trap, held tightly by sand monsters, that had obviously been put there by the Lindens, hoping to capture any reporters and stop them from exposing this environmental disaster and cover-up.

I managed to free myself and headed over to the bar island for a drink.

GALLONS OF VODKA hidden in watermelons, on a supposedly "family friendly" excursion area. I would certainly not recommend this as a place for children. SCANDALOUS.

After a refreshing and intoxicating break, I made my way to the rest of the islands and was met with nothing but floating trash at every turn. It was worse than NO DUMPIRE.

HORRENDOUS WASTE AND ENVIROMENTAL ABUSE ON AN UNPRECEDENTED SCALE!

If you're in the mood for vodka and the smell of rotting tractor tires, give this voyage a try!

Here's the southern REZ area! With a a free Sailboat! -http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Gubbio/214/40/22

Until next time - Stay curious and enjoy your travels.
