Lost Treasures of the Sunken City
I recently joined a Pen Pal Club in SL, which I'm really having lots of fun with. My newest Pen Pal, Tony, asked me to write to him about my adventures. Since I just had an adventure today I figured I'd write my next letter to him here and accomplish 2 things at once.
Of the many boats I own (which are too many) this old Bandit 480 is one of my tried and true vessels. It's highly maneuverable, even in rough seas, and never lags or snags on region crossings.
I traveled south then rounded the peninsula heading west - that was when I spotted the sea trenches, I've seen these types of trenches before - they typically mean something's down there on the sea floor.
This area had a 15 min object return limit - which meant I could leave my boat and dive, as long I got back to it before the time ran out.
You can find out the object return time limit of any area by right clicking on the land > choosing About Land > Objects Tab > and look at the Auto Return setting.
The sea floor was teeming with life as I began my dive towards a sunken submarine where I found a Treasure Chest! With treasure in it!
It wasn't long before I found ANOTHER Treasure Chest …
and then ANOTHER ONE!
and ANOTEHR ONE!
I could NOT believe my good fortune! All this treasure in one dive!
When I reached this one under an ancient ruin, I was joined by a lady who appeared out of nowhere! She actually startled me. HA! We exchanged 'Hellos' and I was back on my way. (She was wearing pants, so I don't think she was a mermaid.)
As seen here - there was a pattern of dark spots on the sea floor.
I'm glad I dove down to check them out because it was so pretty!
It looked like an underwater park with an oval track. Perhaps this is where they raced the Seahorses?
Maybe that lady I ran into earlier was a jockey?
The Degrand Info Hub was nearby so I motored over there to take a peek.

Alas, my excursion ended on a somber note, as I discovered an unmarked, watery grave surrounded by molten sand, which endlessly cascaded down around it. I curiously pondered over this scene. Had one of the Seahorse jockeys fallen off and been killed during a race?
Until next time … stay curious and enjoy your travels.

Cordially,
Your Wandering Pen Pal, Tripp
