In Fading Light - Nacera's Elderglen & Tahoe

Last night we revisited the continent to see how the relocation process was progressing. It appears that no one is living there anymore and whole regions are being removed /deleted. Hence the holes in the above map.

Since I've already written about the Shareta Osumai regions, I wanted to cover the other remaining  2 - Elderglen and Tahoe.

Elderglen will forever hold a special place in my heart as my partner and I spent a few evenings there catching Fairies. I've not laughed like that in years - it was just so much fun.

If you love old fashioned silliness as much as we do, this place is a must to experience.

During one of our visits I decided to wear everything I was given, thus becoming the Fashion Icon of Elderglen & Tahoe

The Fairy Catching Jar and other artifacts from our expedition  there are on display at the Second Life Adventure Repository

It's unclear whether or not Linden Lab will preserve Elderglen's Fairy Catching game. I sure hope they do. Because it's just so much fun.

There is something sweet about these older areas. Perhaps I am being overly sentimental, but I remember my early years in SL being more about sharing and inclusiveness. Lately what I see is mainly people trying to make more and more money. The shopping events grow larger and the focus on sexually explicit adult content grows along with them. As the saying goes, "Sex sells." But for me, this marketplace cacophony quickly turns into a mixture of banality and boredom.

Discovering Elderglen was a wonderfully refreshing respite in contrast to that. There's a genuine innocence found in these forgotten places.

My most memorable image from the Tahoe lodge is this -   the doubled-ended Moose trophy.

"Every thing changes" is one constant of our Universe and so it goes for this virtual world. I hope Linden Lab will find a suitable way to honor these first homes of the first residents.

Until next time … stay curious and enjoy your travels.
