A Moment

I know that most people do not experience the same fascination and genuine love that I and my partner share for SL history. But I have to say tonight, this was truly "a moment" for me, stumbling upon this object while researching another area in preparation for our SL22B exhibit.

I tend to romanticize things, and my relationship to Second Life is certainly not immune from that. Still, this is a memorable moment for me.

As we work on the exhibit we talk a lot about how, to us, the world of Second Life is an actual place. It has a visceral physicality to it that we feel as we travel through it. To us it is not just a collection of pixels on a screen. It is truly a place.

Perhaps people who do not actually travel in SL, but instead choose to TP everywhere, cannot feel what we do. It could be that many people are not interested in embarking on the types of expeditions and voyages we do.

But for us, this place is magical and our adventures and discoveries never cease to make us smile and inspire us to explore even more.

This is why I created Travelers Station in the first place. To share my passion with all of you.

Until next time … stay curious and enjoy your travels.
